Ateneo CCE partners with the Philippine Wellness and Spa Association for the High Performance Spa Management Certification Program
According to the November 2008 Euromonitor International Report, “The Philippine health and wellness sector has the largest untapped potential in the travel and tourism market. In 2008, the sector generated a total of just under Ps13 million with medical tourism cited as the major income earner. The health and wellness segment is seen to be the fastest growing travel and tourism industry segment for the Philippines.“
To address this challenge, the Ateneo Center for Continuing Education (CCE) in partnership with the Philippine Wellness and Spa Association (PHILWELL, formerly the Spa Association of the Philippines) will be launching the first High Performance Spa Management Certification Program. The contract signing, held at the Ateneo Salcedo Campus last November 26, 2009, was attended by CCE Executive Director Glenn San Luis, CCE Sales Head Marleth Calanog, PHILWELL President Catherine Brillantes-Turvill, and PHILWELL Executive Director Jomar Fleras.
The High Performance Spa Management Certification Program aims to educate spa owners and spa managers in the administrative and financial perspectives of the spa industry, and turn them into industry leaders geared towards quality, ethics and professionalism. Successful participants will earn the title Certified Spa Manager.
