Description

Corporate Governance and Risk Management is a two-day course that reinforces awareness and understanding of the rationale and requirements of good corporate governance. At the same time, it initiates the use of tools to assess corporate governance practice. It advocates companies to strive for global competitive advantage by enhancing and developing the hard and soft aspects supportive of good corporate governance. The course highlights the provision of an opportunity to develop a plan or strategy in strengthening organizational practice of good corporate governance and risk management.

The course also enables you to assess your firm’s exposure to risk and understand the risk management process of identification, measurement, monitoring, and oversight of risk.

Objectives

After the course, you will:

1.    Be able to define what corporate governance is all about;
2.    Realize the critical importance of good corporate governance in ensuring the                          sustainability, stability, and resilience of the corporate financial system;

Resource Speakers
Mr. George R. Francisco
is the General Manager of the Land Bank Insurance Brokerage, Inc. where he is responsible for the creation and implementation of strategic and operational plans and programs.

Prior to this, he was the Risk Management and Contract Negotiations Advisor of the Department of Transportation and Communications handling the completion contract for NAIA-3. He also held various leadership positions in companies such as: Philippine Dealing System, Deutsche Knowledge Services, The National Life Insurance Company, TSPI Development Corporation, Currie & Brown Consultants, Capital Strategies Limited, Pacific Rim Insurance Management & Underwriting Services, Wise Insurance Services, Inc.,
and Anscor Insurance Brokers, Inc.
Atty. Reynaldo B. Destura

established his own law firm in 2001. He has more than 16 years of hands on experience in the field of human resource management, and almost 15 years of active law practice. He has been exposed in the labor relations practice in IT service oriented enterprises, business process outsourcing companies, manufacturing, insurance, and job contracting.  


He is an active member of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines and an in-house resource consultant of the People Management of the Philippines in the field of labor relations.

Mr. Tomas T. De Leon, Jr.

is the Program Director for Corporate Governance at the Ateneo Center for Continuing Education. He pioneered in the development of relevant, workplace-based and applications-oriented training seminars, geared specifically for the business sector.

He was appointed by President Benigno Aquino III as member of the board of Land Bank of the Philippines and Chairman & President of the Metro Rail Transit Corporation. He is also the Chairman of the Risk Management Committee, Corporate Governance, and LBP Insurance Brokerage, Inc. (LIBI) of Land Bank. He further serves as President of Data Trail Corporation (an information technology service provider).
