This course provides the practical skills, concepts and principles that help ensure project managers complete their project on time, on budget, and on target. The content of the curricula has been contextualized to the unique operating environments of NGO field project managers.
This course is also a preparatory program for those who will be interested on taking the PMD Pro1 Certification Exam.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Project managers (and their team members) who are responsible for managing, leading, coordinating, and working on field-based projects in the sectors of development, relief and conservation. | | Schedules: | | | Objective: | At the end of the program, participants will learn to:
- Describe the project management process and its benefits;
- Use project management vocabulary and terminology and identify the characteristics of a successful project;
- Navigate the Project Life Cycle;
- Initiate projects and develop a project charter;
- Appropriately deploy tools for stakeholder assessment, problem analysis, objectives identification and alternatives selection;
- Complete a LogFrame Matrix and Develop a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS);
- Effectively estimate resources for projects and schedule project benchmarks and activities;
- Identify the best practices of project monitoring and change control;
- Establish processes for procurement and human resources/team development; and
- Identify the requisite steps for project closure, transition and/or handover.
