AGSB-CCE and BAP Renew Partnership; Launch Updated Treasury Certification Program for 2025

On November 28, 2024, the Ateneo Graduate School of Business Center for Continuing Education (AGSB-CCE) and the Bankers Association of the Philippines (BAP) renewed their long-standing partnership through the Ateneo-BAP Institute of Banking at the BAP Offices, BDO Towers Valero, Makati City.

This renewal included the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to update the BAP Treasury Certification Program curriculum, aiming to improve skills and align with the standards of ASEAN countries. The updated program will be implemented for the first time in February 2025.

The event was attended by key figures, including Mr. Paul Raymond Favila, Chairman of the BAP Open Market Committee; Mr. Felipe Martin Timbol, Chairman of the BAP OMC TCP & Treasury Education Subcommittee; Ms. Pinky Padronia, Senior Associate Director of BAP; Ms. Marleth Calanog, Executive Director of AGSB-CCE; and Mr. Asterio Favis Jr., Director of ABIB.

Founded in 1990, the Ateneo-BAP Institute of Banking (ABIB) serves as the training arm of both BAP and AGSB. It provides specialized programs designed to meet the evolving needs of the banking industry. Since its inception, ABIB has been able to offer 112 batches of the Treasury Certification Program, providing competencies and certification for current and aspiring bankers. As of December 2024, 6,514 individuals were certified as treasury professionals.
